Amy

Bio

Boston Yoga With her signature free-flowing style of yoga, Amy’s class is the perfect balance between strength and surrender. She uses clear alignment cues mixed with moments of spontaneous movement to encourage students to follow her guidance but explore their own paths. She feels this combination of structure and experimentation is ultimately how we find our way in yoga and in life.

Amy has a 200-hour certification with Ganga White and Tracey Rich at the White Lotus Foundation. She credits much of her teachings to her two main influences, Barbara Benagh and Shiva Rea.

Amy has been teaching in Boston for nearly 10 years. She was just awarded Best Yoga Teacher in Boston by Boston Magazine.

I began my yoga journey in January 2003 when I walked into Amy’s Yoga Basics class at the (former) Crunch Fitness in Downtown Crossing, not knowing my a$$ from my elbow. Well, the stars must’ve been aligned that Monday night, because from the moment I stepped onto that mat in Amy’s class, I never looked back. Because of her clarity, compassion, confidence, and humor, I fell in love with the practice, and am now, almost five years later, a certified yoga teacher.

Amy has been such an inspiration to me. She’s a truly amazing teacher and on top of that, one of the coolest chicks ever.

Best of Boston, indeed…and one of the best anywhere, period.

    Cheers!
